Introducing Dr. George Bouras

Who knows from the time they are in high school exactly what they want to do with their life? Not many; but Dr. George Bouras did.

Dr. Bouras is a licensed optometrist who recently joined the 20/Happy team at Center For Sight – Las Vegas.

Dr. Bouras’ interest in eye care was sparked at an early age, as he routinely attended his mom’s eye appointments with her. She suffers from glaucoma (controlled and doing quite well today!), and as a single mom, she often had to take young George with her for her check-ups and treatment.

“By the time I was a senior in high school, I knew I wanted to be an optometrist, and I stayed on that track,” said Dr. Bouras, who is also married to an optometrist (they met in optometry school). It’s safe to say the entire Bouras family will be well cared for where eye care is concerned!

In addition to receiving his Doctor of Optometry degree (with honors) from Illinois College of Optometry in 2017, Dr. Bouras completed a rigorous residency in Ocular Disease with the Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, Wisconsin. There he received specialized training in treating and managing ocular diseases as well as pre and post-op care of cataract and LASIK patients. He also attended a medical mission to Nicaragua to provide much-needed eye care in several underserved areas.

“Center For Sight is the perfect fit for me to use the skills and experience I gained in my residency since it is a busy practice with a significant focus on eye disease and conditions in addition to vision correction,” said Dr. Bouras.
