Background
Dr. Hart is originally from western Colorado but left his beloved home state to earn his BS (magna cum laude) from Brigham Young University in Utah. Before pursuing medicine, Dr. Hart received his Master of Science degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder, where he studied ultrafast laser spectroscopy at the prestigious Joint Institute for Laboratory Astrophysics. He then spent a few years working in research before going to medical school.
Dr. Hart finished his medical training at Yale, completing a combined medical/surgical internship and then a residency in ophthalmology at Yale Eye Center. “Ophthalmology appealed to me — in part — because of my background in physics,” he said. “The strong scientific component and all the constantly evolving technology made it a very interesting specialty to me.”
Before relocating his practice to Las Vegas, Dr. Hart practiced in Connecticut and served as a member of the clinical faculty at Yale Medical School Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science, where he was responsible for teaching medical students and residents.
Dr. Hart joined the team at Center For Sight in 2013 and is delighted to live in a warmer climate and be closer to his family. “I enjoy partnering with Center For Sight as in this practice, I am able to see a wide variety of patients and treat an array of conditions,” he said.
Outside of work, Dr. Hart stays active, enjoying the temperate Las Vegas climate, hiking, camping and playing golf. He also enjoys a good game of squash.
